Day 1 - Arrival in Dar es Salaam – Transfer to Mikumi National Park
Your unforgettable Tanzanian safari begins with a scenic journey from the bustling coastal city of Dar es Salaam to the heart of the wild at Mikumi National Park. This drive takes approximately 5 to 6 hours by road, winding through small villages, rolling hills, and lush landscapes that gradually give way to the open savannah. For those who prefer to save time or simply enjoy a bird's-eye view of the countryside, a short domestic flight to Mikumi is also an option.
Day 2 - Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park
Spend a full day exploring Mikumi, often compared to the Serengeti for its landscapes. Spot lions, giraffes, wildebeest, hippos, and over 400 bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before returning to camp.
Day 3 - Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains – Hike to Waterfalls
After breakfast, drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park (approx. 1.5 hrs). Enjoy a guided hike through lush rainforest to Sanje Waterfalls, where you’ll see monkeys, endemic birds, and panoramic views of the Kilombero Valley.
Day 4 - Drive to Ruaha National Park
Depart early for Ruaha National Park (approx. 6–7 hrs drive). Enjoy incredible views of villages, rivers, and baobab trees along the way. Arrive in the afternoon and relax at your lodge or take a sunset game drive if time permits.
Day 5 - Full-Day Game Drive in Ruaha National Park
Spend the day exploring Ruaha, Tanzania’s largest national park, known for its rugged wilderness, large lion prides, rare antelopes, crocodiles, wild dogs, and massive elephant herds. Enjoy a bush lunch during your game drive.
Day 6 - Return to Dar es Salaam or Fly Out
After breakfast, begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam (or take an optional flight). Arrive by late afternoon or early evening, depending on your route. End of the tour.
